Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Maintenance Operations in the Philadelphia Region

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Montgomery, Chester and Delaware counties for maintenance operations, the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, August 7, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Norristown Road is scheduled
to
close between Butler Pike and Stenton Avenue in Whitpain Township,
Montgomery
County, for base repair. During construction, Norristown Road motorists
will be
detoured over Butler Pike and Stenton Avenue;
• Monday, August 7, and Tuesday, August 8, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, lane
restrictions are scheduled on Route 23 (Ridge Road) between Bethel Road and
Frog Hollow Road in West Vincent and East Pikeland townships, Chester
County,
for shoulder cutting;
• Tuesday, August 8, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Penllyn Blue Bell Pike is
scheduled to close between Township Line Road and Route 73 (Skippack Pike)
in
Whitpain Township, Montgomery County. During construction, Penllyn Blue
Bell
Pike motorists will be detoured over Township Line Road, Walton Road and
Route
73 (Skippack Pike);
• Monday, August 7, through Thursday, August 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
left
lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 422 between Egypt Road and Route 363
(Trooper Road) in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships,
Montgomery
County, for concrete patching;
• Monday, August 7, through Thursday, August 10, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM,
lane
restrictions are scheduled on U.S. 30 (Coatesville/Downingtown Bypass)
between
the Airport Road and Route 340 (Kings Highway) interchanges in Valley and
Caln
townships, Chester County, for median stabilization;
• Monday, August 7, through Thursday, August 10, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM,
lane
closures are scheduled on U.S. 1 between Route 896 (Newark Road) and Route
41
(Gap Newport Pike) in London Grove, Penn and Lower Oxford townships,
Chester
County, for shoulder work;
• Monday, August 7, through Friday, August 11, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Yellow Springs Road between
Route
29 (Charlestown/Moorehall Road) and Route 252 (Valley Creek Road) in
Tredyffrin, Schuylkill and Charlestown townships, Chester County, for crack
sealing;
• Wednesday, August 9, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Henderson Road is scheduled
to
close between Church Road and Gulph Road in Upper Merion Township,
Montgomery
County, for base repair. During construction, Henderson Road motorists will
be
detoured over Church Road and Gulph Road;
• Wednesday, August 9, and Thursday, August 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
intermittent lane closures are scheduled on southbound Interstate 95 from
just
south of the Philadelphia International Airport Interchange to the Delaware
state line in Tinicum, Ridley, Chester, Upper Chichester, Lower Chichester
townships, Upland Borough, and City of Chester, Delaware County, for
patching;
• Thursday, August 10, from 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM, Crooked Lane is scheduled
to
close between Yerkes Road and Gulph Road in Upper Merion Township,
Montgomery
County, for base repair. During construction, Crooked Lane motorists will
be
detoured over Church Road, Flint Hill Road and Route 320 (Swedeland Road);
and
• Friday, August 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled
on
U.S. 322 (Conchester Highway) between U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) and
Interstate 95
in Concord, Bethel, and Upper Chichester townships, Delaware County, for
patching.
Local access will be maintained up to the construction zones for all
closures.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work
areas
because slowdowns will occur during construction. All scheduled activities
are
weather dependent.
