I-95, Aramingo Avenue Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week for Highway Lighting Pole Inspections in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA – Motorists will encounter periodic lane restrictions on Interstate 95 and Aramingo Avenue in Philadelphia for highway lighting pole inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

  • Wednesday, May 1, through Friday, May 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane restrictions are scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Bridge Street/Harbison Avenue interchanges;
  • Thursday, May 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane restrictions are scheduled on the ramp from Aramingo Avenue to I-95 South; and
  • Friday, May 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, periodic lane restrictions are scheduled on southbound I-95 at the Castor Avenue/Allegheny Avenue Interchange.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns and backups will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The work is part of a PennDOT project to repair and replace existing highway signs, bridge systems and high mast lighting systems on various highways in the Philadelphia region.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in July 2020.

MJ Electric, LLC., of Shoemakersville, Pa. is the general contractor on the $6,792,501 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
