Downingtown Municipal Water Authority to Restrict, Close Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) for Utility Improvement
King of Prussia, PA – Downingtown Municipal Water Authority is planning to close restrict and close Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in Downingtown Borough, Chester County for utility construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Tuesday, July 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) will be reduced to a single lane with flagging between Whiteland Avenue and Wagner Avenue;
- Wednesday, July 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) will be reduced to a single lane with flagging between Chestnut Street and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue); and
- Thursday, July 11, from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) will be closed and detoured between Chestnut Street and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 282 (Green Street), Pennsylvania Avenue and Route 113 (Uwchlan Avenue).
Local access will be maintained for residents. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur.
Downingtown Municipal Water Authority will complete this project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
