U.S. 422 Lane Closures Next Week for Construction on Three Improvement Projects in Montgomery County
King of Prussia, PA – U.S. 422 motorists will encounter several travel restrictions next week at various locations in Montgomery County for construction activities on three separate projects to reconstruct, rehabilitate and improve the expressway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Weather permitting, the work schedule is:
- Sunday, June 16, through Friday, June 21, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a single lane closure will occur on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Oaks and Route 363 (Trooper Road) interchanges in Upper Providence and Lower Providence townships for paving operations;
- Monday, June 17, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure will occur on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Route 363 (Trooper Road) and Route 23 (Valley Forge Road) interchanges in Lower Providence, West Norriton and Upper Merion townships, Montgomery County for traffic pattern shift;
- Monday, June 17, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, periodic 15-minute traffic stoppages will occur on eastbound U.S. 422 between the Route 363 (Trooper Road) and U.S. 202 interchanges for bridge railing installation;
- Monday, June 17, from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, periodic 15-minute traffic stoppages will occur on westbound U.S. 422 between the U.S. 202 and Route 363 (Trooper Road) interchanges for bridge railing installation;
- Monday, June 17, through Thursday, June 20, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 AM the following morning, right lane and shoulder closures will occur on eastbound U.S. 422 between Park Road and Township Line Road in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships for concrete patching; and
- Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 AM the following morning, left lane and shoulder closures will occur on eastbound U.S. 422 between Park Road and Township Line Road for concrete patching.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on U.S. 422 in the work areas because backups and delays will occur. In the event of weather, the operations will be postponed until the following day if needed.
