Wolf Administration Announces Work to Begin on Project to Repair and Resurface 39 Miles of State Highway in Montgomery County
King of Prussia, PA – The Wolf Administration announced today that construction is scheduled to begin Sunday, June 9, on a project to repair and resurface 39 miles of state highway in Montgomery County.
"Improvement projects like this are an important part of investing in the Commonwealth's infrastructure," Governor Tom Wolf said. "These repairs will help increase safety and improve efficiency for those traveling along Montgomery County roadways."
Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.
On Sunday, June 9, through Friday, June 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 332 (Montgomery Avenue/Jacksonville Road) between Route 263 (York Road) and the Bucks County line in Hatboro Brough, for milling and utility adjustments.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.
Additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract include:
- Route 29 (Gravel Pike) between Route 73 (Skippack Pike) and Second Street in Schwenksville, Red Hill and Green Lane boroughs;
- Route 63 (Old Welsh Road) between Terwood Drive and Red Lion Road in Lower Moreland Township;
- Route 113 (Broad Street) between Front Street and the Bucks County line in Souderton Borough;
- Route 363 (Trooper Road) between Audubon Road and Germantown Pike in Worcester, Lower Providence and West Norriton townships;
- U.S. 422 between Porter Road and the Chester County line in Lower Pottsgrove Township;
- Route 463 (Horsham Road) between Upper State Road and Tournament Drive/High School Road in Montgomery and Horsham townships;
- Route 663 (Layfield Road) between Route 73 (Big Road) and Hill Road in New Hanover Township;
- Perkiomenville Road between Route 73 (Big Road) and Route 29 (Gravel Pike) in Upper Fredrick Township;
