I-95, I-76 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in the Philadelphia Region
King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on several state highways in Philadelphia, Montgomery, and Bucks counties for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, June 24, and Tuesday, June 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound Interstate 95 between the Interstate 76 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia;
- Monday, June 24, and Tuesday, June 25, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-95 between the Broad Street and Enterprise Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
- Tuesday, June 25, and Wednesday, June 26, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled in both directions on I-76 at the U.S. 202 Interchange in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County;
- Wednesday, June 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Interstate 676 and Girard Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
- Wednesday, June 26, and Thursday, June 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Old Lincoln Highway between Route 132 (Street Road) and Horizon Boulevard in Bensalem Township, Bucks County;
- Wednesday, June 26, and Thursday, June 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Trevose Road between Route 132 (Street Road) and Somerton Road in Bensalem Township, Bucks County; and
- Thursday, June 27, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Castor Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges in Philadelphia.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
