I-95, I-476 Restricted for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties
King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia and Interstate 476 in Montgomery County for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, August 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Interstate 76 and Columbus Boulevard interchanges in Philadelphia;
- Monday, August 5, through Thursday, August 15, weekdays from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-476 between the I-76 and Ridge Pike interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County;
- Wednesday, August 7, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on the ramp from Academy Road to I-95 in Philadelphia;
- Wednesday, August 7, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on the ramp from southbound I-95 to Academy Road in Philadelphia;
- Friday, August 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the I-76 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia; and
- Saturday, August 10, and Sunday, August 11, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the I-76 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
