U.S. 1 North (Roosevelt Expressway) Lane Closure Tomorrow Night for Bridge Repair in Philadelphia
King of Prussia, PA – The left lane is scheduled to close on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between Fox Street and 17th Street in Philadelphia on Wednesday, August 28, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for bridge repair under a project to rehabilitate the half-mile-long Wayne Junction Viaduct which carries the expressway over SEPTA tracks, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The lane closure on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) is in addition to the lane closure previously planned on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) between 17th Street and Fox Street on Wednesday, August 28, and Thursday, August 29, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for joint installation.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Expressway) through the work area because slowdowns and backups will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.
South State, Inc. of Bridgeton, N.J. is the general contractor on the $88,456,609 project which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. The entire project is expected to be completed in late 2022. For more information, visit us1wav.com.
