I-95, I-476 Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties
King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia and Interstate 476 in Montgomery County, for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Tuesday, October 1, from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound I-476 between Ridge Pike and Interstate 76 interchanges in West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County;
- Tuesday, October 1 and Wednesday, October 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on southbound I-95 between Girard Avenue and Interstate 676 interchanges in Philadelphia;
- Wednesday, October 2, from 12:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-476 between I-76 and Ridge Pike interchanges;
- Thursday, October 3 and Friday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between Route 291 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia; and
- Saturday, October 5, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between Route 291 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
