PennDOT - District 6 News: Verizon Pennsylvania to Restrict Route 23, U.S. 30, Chestnut Street for Utility Construction in Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties

Verizon Pennsylvania to Restrict Route 23, U.S. 30, Chestnut Street for Utility Construction in Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties

King of Prussia, PA – Verizon Pennsylvania is planning single lane closures next on Route 23 (Conshohocken State Road) and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County and Chestnut Street in Philadelphia for utility construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

Montgomery County

  • Monday, April 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 23 (Conshohocken State Road) between Spring Mill Road and Gunning Lane in Lower Merion Township;
  • Tuesday, April 14, through Friday, April 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on eastbound and westbound U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between Greenfield Avenue and Ardmore Avenue in Lower Merion Township; and
  • Tuesday, April 14, through Tuesday, April 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a weekday lane closure is scheduled on eastbound and westbound U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between Indian Creek Road and U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Lower Merion Township.

Philadelphia County

  • Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Chestnut Street between 21st Street and 20th Street; and
  • Wednesday, April 15, and Thursday, April 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Chestnut Street between 23rd Street and 22nd Street.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
