Overhead Sign Work Scheduled at Night Next Week on Interstate 95 in South Philadelphia
Philadelphia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that overhead sign work is scheduled at night next week on northbound I-95 in South Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, November 4, through Wednesday, November 6, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, intermittent lane closures are planned on northbound I-95 between the Broad Street and Packer Avenue interchanges.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
PennDOT's is replacing and extending the covered area over I-95 and Columbus Boulevard between Chestnut and Walnut streets. This project will improve pedestrian and multimodal connections between Center City and the waterfront. The new project has two main components: a new Park at Penn's Landing, and a new signature bridge at South Street, both of which will also extend over Columbus Boulevard to connect cyclists and pedestrians to the newly completed Delaware River Trail.
Additional project details, construction updates, project detours and other information are available at www.95revive.com.
