St. Joseph's University Pedestrian Bridge Construction
St. Joseph's University Pedestrian Bridge Construction Scheduled on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Philadelphia, Lower Merion Township
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that curb and sidewalk construction will occur under a local project to improve the St. Joseph's University pedestrian bridge on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, Montgomery County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Tuesday, February 4, through Friday, February 14, a 24/7 alternating lane closure is scheduled weekdays on U.S. 1 (City Avenue) in both directions between 59th Street and Lapsley Lane. Work may also take place on Saturday and Sunday if needed by the contractor.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
St. Joseph's University will complete this improvement project under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways including color-coded winter conditions, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
