I-95 Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week between I-76 and Cottman Avenue

Daytime and nighttime lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate
95 in
Philadelphia for ramp construction, sign repairs and survey operations, the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, February 13, through Thursday, February 16, from 8:00 PM to 5:00
AM
the following morning, intermittent single and double lane closures are
scheduled on northbound and southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross
Bridge/Aramingo
Avenue Interchange for overhead ramp construction;
• Monday, February 13, and Tuesday, February 14, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM
the
following morning, intermittent lane closures and periodic full stoppages
of up
to 15 minutes are planned on northbound and southbound Aramingo Avenue
between
Wheatsheaf Lane and Church Street in the vicinity of the Betsy Ross
Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange for overhead ramp construction; and
• Wednesday, February 15, and Thursday, February 16, from 8:00 PM to 5:00
AM
the following morning, intermittent stoppages of up to 15 minutes are
planned
on the ramp from Aramingo Avenue to northbound I-95 for placement of an
overhead sign.
The work at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange is associated
with a $160.2 million project to improve the ramp system at the
interchange.
Other lane restrictions scheduled next week on I-95 in Philadelphia
include:
• Monday, February 13, through Saturday, February 18, from 12:01 AM to 5:00
AM,
intermittent single lane and shoulder closures are scheduled on southbound
I-95
between the Cottman Avenue and Bridge Street interchanges for repairs to an
electronic message sign; and
• Tuesday, February 14, through Thursday, February 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
alternating lane closures will occur on northbound and southbound I-95
between
the Interstate 76 and Interstate 676 interchanges for survey operations.
The sign structure operations are part of PennDOT's ongoing upgrade of
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) components on I-95 and other
regional
highways. The survey operations are associated with preliminary engineering
underway for future improvements to I-95.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow more time for
travel
on I-95 because backups will occur. All scheduled activities are weather
dependent.
