I-95 Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week in Philadelphia

2/24/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

Daytime and overnight lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate
95,
along with daytime travel restrictions on Aramingo or Torresdale avenues at
the
I-95 Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania
Department
of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, February 27, through Saturday, March 4, from 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM,

lane and shoulder closures will be in place on northbound I-95 between
Philadelphia International Airport and Bartram Avenue for replacement of an

electronic message sign;

• Monday, February 27, through Friday, March 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
intermittent lane closures will be in place on northbound and southbound
Aramingo Avenue between Wheatsheaf Lane and Church Street near the Betsy
Ross
Bridge Interchange for reconstruction of the bridge over Frankford Creek;

• Monday, February 27, through Friday, March 3, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
intermittent lane closures will occur in both directions on Torresdale
Avenue
between Hunting Park Avenue and Adams Avenue for water main installation;
and

• Tuesday, February 28, and Wednesday, March 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
alternating lane closures will occur on northbound and southbound I-95
between
the Interstate 76 and Interstate 676 interchanges for survey operations.

The sign structure operation is part of PennDOT's ongoing upgrade of
Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) components on I-95 and other
regional
highways. The survey work is associated with preliminary engineering
underway
for future improvements to I-95.

The work on Aramingo Avenue and Torresdale Avenue is associated with an $81

million project to reconstruct and widen Aramingo Avenue near the Betsy
Ross
Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange ramps, and to improve and extend Adams
Avenue from Torresdale Avenue to Aramingo Avenue and the ramps.

Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow more time for
travel
on I-95 because backups will occur. All scheduled activities are weather
dependent.
