Route 63 (Welsh Road) to Close Weekdays for Resurfacing Operations in
Abington and Lower Moreland Townships

Route 63 (Welsh Road) will be closed and detoured between Edge Hill Road
and
Terwood Road in Abington and Lower Moreland townships, Montgomery County,
beginning Monday, July 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for milling and paving
operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced
today. The weekday restriction is scheduled to be in effect through
mid-August.
During construction, Route 63 (Welsh Road) motorists will be detoured over
Edge
Hill Road and Terwood Road. Local access will be maintained up to the
construction zones.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this area
because slowdowns will occur during construction. The work schedule is
dependent on the weather.
James D. Morrissey, Inc., of Philadelphia, is the general contractor on the
$1,252,009 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
