SEPTA to Close Girard Avenue and Ridge Avenue Beginning Next Week for
Trolley Track Replacement in Philadelphia

SEPTA is planning to close Girard Avenue and Ridge Avenue in Philadelphia
beginning next week for trolley track replacement, the Pennsylvania
Department
of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Beginning Thursday, July 27, at 7:00 AM, through Saturday, August 5,
Girard
Avenue is scheduled to close between 17th Street and 20th Street. During
construction, eastbound Girard Avenue motorists will be detoured over
Poplar
Street and Broad Street. Westbound Girard Avenue motorists will be detoured

over 13th Street, Master Street, Ridge Avenue and College Avenue; and
• Beginning Thursday, July 27, at 8:00 AM, through Saturday, August 5,
Ridge
Avenue is scheduled to close between Thompson Street and Poplar Street.
During
construction, northbound Ridge Avenue motorists will be detoured over 16th
Street and Master Street. Southbound Ridge Avenue motorists will be
detoured
over Thompson Street and 17th Street.

Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone. Motorists are
advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because
slowdowns will occur during construction. All scheduled activities are
weather
dependent.
