Lane Restrictions Scheduled on Several State Highways for High-Friction
Resurfacing in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery Counties

Motorists in Bucks, Chester and Montgomery counties will encounter single
lane
closures next week on several state highways for high-friction resurfacing
operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)
announced
today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, September 18, through Friday, September 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
and Saturday, September 23, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled on Route 896 (New London Road) at Appleton Road in Franklin
Township,
Bucks County;
• Monday, September 18, through Friday, September 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
and Saturday, September 23, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled on Woodbourne Road between Langhorne Valley Road and Lincoln
Highway
in Middletown Township, Bucks County;
• Monday, September 18, through Friday, September 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
and Saturday, September 23, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled on Route 842 (Brandywine Creek Road) between Birmingham Road and
Bridge Road in East Brandywine Township, Chester County; and
• Monday, September 18, through Friday, September 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
and Saturday, September 23, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, lane restrictions are
scheduled on Route 63 (Old Welsh Road) between Edge Hill Road and
Washington
Lane in Abington Township, Montgomery County.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through all work
areas.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The work is part of a $4.8 million resurfacing project to improve travel
and
safety on 25 state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and
Philadelphia counties, by installing a high-friction surface treatment to
provide increased friction and grip on pavements in wet and dry conditions.
J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on
the
project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state
funds.
