PennDOT Names Maintenance Manager for Delaware County

PennDOT Names Maintenance Manager for Delaware County

9/21/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today
that it
has named James L. Brown, Jr. as the new county maintenance manager in
Delaware
County.

"Jim brings a wealth of field and managerial experience to this new
position as
he's been a key member of our Bucks County maintenance staff for the past
11
years," PennDOT District Executive Kenneth M. McClain said. "He possesses
the
knowledge, experience, and leadership skills to successfully manage our
Delaware County maintenance operation."

Brown, who served most recently as PennDOT's acting maintenance manager in
Delaware County and as an assistant highway maintenance manager in Bucks
County, will supervise a staff of 77 employees who are responsible for
maintaining 513 miles of state highway and 373 state-owned bridges in
Delaware
County.

He will manage a $23 million annual maintenance budget and direct numerous
transportation maintenance functions in Delaware County, including the
development of the annual paving program; winter maintenance operations;
pavement patching; and incident response.

Prior to working as assistant highway maintenance manager for Bucks County
since 2006, Brown progressed through various positions while working in
PennDOT's Lehigh County and Northampton County maintenance units -- from a
transportation equipment operator to a highway foreman. He joined PennDOT
in
1988 as a transportation equipment operator trainee.
