U.S. 1, Street Road (Route 132) Lane Closures at Night Next Week for Construction in Bensalem Township
King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures will be in place at night next week on U.S. 1 and Street Road (Route 132) for roadway and bridge construction on a project to reconstruct, widen and improve a 1.3-mile section of the highway in Bensalem Township, Bucks County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
- Sunday, October 6, through Friday, October 11, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating northbound and southbound single lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 between Rockhill Drive and Old Lincoln Highway; and
- Sunday, October 6, through Friday, October 11, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning, alternating eastbound and westbound single lane closures will be in place on Street Road (Route 132) between Old Lincoln Highway and Kingston Way.
In addition, periodic lane restrictions will be in place on the northbound side of Business U.S. 1 (Old Lincoln Highway) at Bristol Road, and on the ramps to and from U.S. 1 and Business U.S. 1 (Old Lincoln Highway) on Wednesday, October 9, through Friday, October 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for soil testing operations for the next stage of the U.S. 1 improvement project in Bucks County.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather permitting.
The work is part of a corridor improvement project to rebuild and widen U.S. 1; replace aging bridges; and install safety enhancements along a four-mile section of the expressway from just north of Philadelphia to just north of Route 413 (Pine Street) in Middletown Township and Langhorne Borough.
