I-95 Night Travel Restrictions between Cottman Avenue and Betsy Ross Bridge
Interchanges

A series of nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled through next week
on
Interstate 95 for construction at the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) and Betsy
Ross
Bridge interchanges in Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The upcoming work schedule is:

• Sunday, December 4, through Friday, December 10, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM
the
following morning, single lane closures will be in place periodically on
northbound I-95 between the Bridge Street and Academy Road interchanges for

repairs to drainage pipes;

• Sunday, December 4, through Friday, December 10, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM
the
following morning, single and double lane closures will be in place
periodically on southbound I-95 between the Academy Road and Bridge Street
interchanges for repairs to drainage pipes and removal of an overhead sign
structure; and

• Sunday, December 4, through Friday, December 10, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM
the
following morning, the I-95 north off-ramp to Cottman Avenue (Route 73)
will be
closed periodically for ramp widening activities. Motorists will be
detoured
north on I-95 to the exit at the Academy Road Interchange, then right on
Linden
Avenue, and right on State Road to Cottman Avenue (Route 73).

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel on I-95 through the work

zones. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The work is associated with contracts underway to improve the ramp system
at
the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange and to rebuild and
improve
the Cottman Avenue Interchange and reconstruct and widen more than one mile
of
I-95 adjoining the interchange.
