The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for our region effective 6:00 P.M. tonight until 2:00 A.M. Thursday, March 22, 2018. Significant snow accumulation is expected in addition to high winds. Icing conditions are also possible. The latest update from the National Weather Service indicates that our region can expect 7 - 13 inches of snow (see weather statement at end of this message).

As a result of this forecast, the Borough of Hatboro has declared a snow emergency effective at 9:00 PM. tonight. As heavy snow is expected to begin overnight, declaring the emergency at this time allows crews to effectively conduct curb-to-curb snow removal operations on designated snow emergency routes where vehicles may normally be parked overnight.

Parking will be prohibited along all snow emergency routes in Hatboro. Vehicles found parked on these streets during a snow emergency are subject to ticketing and towing. The following streets are designated as snow emergency routes:

*Byberry Road
*E. County Line Road
*W. County Line Road
*Horsham Road
*Jacksonville Road
*E. Montgomery Avenue (between N. York Rd. and Jacksonville Rd.).
*W. Moreland Avenue
* E. Moreland Avenue (between York Rd. and Jacksonville Rd.)
*S. Penn Street
*N. Warminster Road
*S. Warminster Road
*N. York Road
*S. York Road

Do not park on these streets. No vehicles may be parked on these streets after 9:00 P.M. tonight.

During a declared snow emergency, vehicles operating on any streets in the Borough must be equipped with snow rated tires or chains.

If you must travel during this anticipated storm, please do so with extreme caution!

Additionally, the snow is expected to be heavy and wet. This combined with predicted 25 - 40 MPH winds, may cause trees and limbs to fall. Power outages are possible. We recommend everyone charge cel l phones prior to any potential power outages. Those with portable generators are reminded to have extra fuel on hand in proper containers. Always use the generators pursuant to manufacturers instructions and always keep running generators outdoors in a well ventilated area. To report power outages, please contact PECO directly at 1-800-841-4141 or visit https://www.peco.com/Outages/ReportAnOutage/Pages/default.aspx.

As always, please dial 9-1-1 for any police, fire or emergency medical services response.
