Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for Bridge Inspections in Bucks and Philadelphia Counties

​King of Prussia, PA – Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in Bucks and Philadelphia counties for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, July 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled in both directions on U.S.1 at the Pennsylvania Avenue interchange in Morrisville Borough, Bucks County;
• Monday, July 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound Interstate 95 between the Interstate 676 and Columbus Boulevard/Washington Avenue interchanges in Philadelphia;
• Tuesday, July 17, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 13 between Newbold Road and U.S. 1 in Falls Township, Bucks County; 
•  Wednesday, July 18, and Thursday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on Old Lincoln Highway between Tyburn Road and Woolston Drive in Falls Township, Bucks County;
• Thursday, July 19, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) between Island Avenue and I-95 North in Philadelphia;
• Thursday, July 19, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on the ramp from Bartram Avenue to I-95 North in Philadelphia; and
• Thursday, July, 19, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled in both directions on I-95 between the Academy Road/Linden Avenue and Woodhaven Road interchanges in Philadelphia and Bensalem Township, Bucks County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
