PennDOT to Host Open House Meeting for Church Road Improvements Project in Cheltenham Township
King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will hold an open house public plans display on Thursday, April 4 at 6:00 PM in Glenside Hall at 185 S. Keswick Avenue in Glenside to inform citizens about the upcoming project to improve travel and safety along Route 73 (Church Road) at the Greenwood Avenue and Rices Mill Road intersections in Cheltenham Township, Montgomery County.
The purpose of the public plans display is to obtain public input and fulfill the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements. Attendees will have the opportunity to review the specifics of the project, as well as speak with members of the PennDOT design team, who will be on hand to answer questions and gather feedback from the public about this project.
Under this project, PennDOT will improve traffic flow and safety along Church Road (Route 73) by widening the highway and adding turn lanes at the Greenwood Avenue Intersection, and re-timing of the existing traffic signal at Rices Mill Road to create an exclusive left turn movement for westbound Church Road motorists.
Improvements will also include the installation of a sidewalk on the north side of Church Road from Rices Mill Road to Greenwood Avenue and the construction of a stormwater management basin on the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College property.
Construction bids on this project are expected to open late 2020.
