NWS Weather Briefing - High Winds Saturday

This is a message from ReadyChesco.


Attached is the latest weather briefing from the US National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ about high winds that are expected to pick up behind a cold front on Saturday. The highest wind gusts are expected in the Saturday afternoon and evening time frame with top gusts around 45 mph.  Here are the details:

Chester County Forecasted Conditions:

·         Anticipated Timing: Saturday 10/22/16

·         Duration: 1 day

·         Wind speeds: winds 20-25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph

·         Precipitation: light, no impacts from rain expected

·         Active watches & warnings: None at this time

 

Impacts:

  • Trees and wires coming down, causing localized power outages
  • Loose debris flying from the wind gusts

Recommended Preparedness Actions:

  • Remove loose debris around buildings 

The next briefing package is expected to be issued tomorrow.  We will distribute the package as soon as we have had an opportunity to analyze the impacts for Chester County.
