Nighttime Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways
for Resurfacing in Montgomery County

Nighttime lane restrictions are scheduled next week on several state
highways
as part of a $5.4 million project to repair and resurface 24 miles of state

highway in Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation

(PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Sunday, May 21, through Thursday, May 25, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Route 663 (Layfield Road)
between
Hill Road and Route 29 (Main Street) in New Hanover and Upper Hanover
townships
and Pennsburg Borough, for paving;
• Sunday, May 21, through Thursday, May 25, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Audubon Road between Pawlings
Road
and Route 363 (Trooper Road) in Lower Providence Township, for paving; and
• Sunday, May 21, through Thursday, May 25, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane
restrictions with flagging are scheduled on Route 29 (Bridge Street)
between
U.S. 422 and Tow Path Road in Upper Providence Township, for milling.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work

zones because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent
on
the weather.

The additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract

include:

• U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) between Church Road and U.S. 1 (City Avenue)
in
Lower Merion Township;
• King Street between Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) and Manatawny Street in
Pottstown Borough;
• Route 29 (Main Street) between West 6th Street and and West 2nd Street in

East Greenville, Pennsburg and in Red Hill boroughs;
• Hartman Road between Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) and Route 463 (Horsham
Road)
in Montgomery Township; and
• Bethlehem Pike between Route 309 and Pennsylvania Avenue in Lower Gwynedd

Township, Ambler Borough and Upper Dublin Township.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill the existing roadway
surface
and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal
the
roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface. Work on the
project is expected to be completed in July 2017.

H & K Group, Inc., of Schwenksville, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor on the $5,439,980 project, which is financed with 100 percent
state
funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
