Daytime Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Route 29 and Meyers Road
in Montgomery County

10/19/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

Daytime lane restrictions are scheduled next week on Route 29 (Gravel Pike)
and
Meyers Road in Perkiomen Township, Montgomery County, for utility and
construction activities related to a safety improvement project, the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Monday, October 23, through Friday, October 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
Route 29 (Gravel Pike) will be reduced to a single lane between Miller Road
and
Harrison Avenue, for utility relocation; and
• Monday, October 23, through Friday, October 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
Meyers Road will be reduced to a single lane between Seitz Road and Miller
Road, for construction activities.

During construction, all traffic will be controlled by flagging. Motorists
are
advised to allow extra time when traveling through the construction areas
because slowdowns will occur.

In addition to the lane restrictions, the following long-term closures are
in
place on Plank Road and Otts Road in Perkiomen and Skippack townships:

• Plank Road is closed and detoured between Route 29 (Gravel Pike) and
Route 73
(Skippack Pike) through late November. Plank Road motorists are being
detoured
over Route 29 (Gravel Pike), Haldeman Road and Route 73 (Skippack Pike);
and
• Otts Road is closed and detoured between Miller Road and Route 29 (Gravel

Pike) through May 2019. Otts Road motorists are being directed to use Route
29
(Gravel Pike), Bridge Street, Wartman Road, Township Line Road, Seitz Road
and
Meyers Road.

The work is part of PennDOT's project to improve travel and safety at the
intersection of Route 29 (Gravel Pike) at Plank Road/Otts Road; the
intersection of Route 73 (Skippack Pike) at Plank Road; and the Meyers
Road,
Seitz Road and Township Line Road intersection in Skippack, Perkiomen and
Limerick townships, Montgomery County.

The improvements include widening the intersection of Route 73 (Skippack
Pike)
and Plank Road to include left turn lanes on both roads; relocating Otts
Road
to align with Plank Road at Route 29 (Gravel Pike) to create a four-leg
intersection; adding left turn lanes on Route 29 (Gravel Pike) at Plank
Road/Otts Road; adding left turn lanes on Plank Road and Otts Road at Route
29
(Gravel Pike); realigning Meyers Road to intersect with Township Line Road;

realigning Seitz Road to form a T-intersection with Meyers Road; installing
new
traffic signals along the project corridor; and improving the roadway
alignment
in three locations.

H & K Group, Inc., of Skippack, Montgomery County, is the general
contractor on
the $11,292,416 contract that financed with 100 percent state funds. The
project is expected to finish in spring 2019.
