I-95 Lane Closures, Stoppages Scheduled Friday Night for Sign Installation
in Philadelphia

10/25/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA

Interstate 95 motorists will encounter overnight lane closures and periodic

traffic stoppages on Friday, October 27, for the installation of an
overhead
sign structure at the Girard Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia, the
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Beginning at 11:00 PM Friday, October 27, until 5:00 AM Saturday, October
28,
double lane closures are scheduled on northbound and southbound I-95
between
the Allegheny Avenue and Girard Avenue interchanges while crews assemble
the
structure. In addition to the lane closures, periodic 15-minute traffic
stoppages are also planned in both directions while the sign structure is
installed.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 through
the
work area because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are
weather
dependent.

The new sign structure will span the entire interstate and support new
interchange signs as part of PennDOT's $211.7 million project to rebuild
and
widen 1.5 miles of northbound I-95 between the Girard Avenue and Allegheny
Avenue interchanges.
