I-95 South Double Lane Closure Tuesday for Bridge Inspection, Barrier Adjustment near Betsy Ross Interchange in Philadelphia

King of Prussia, PA — The right two lanes are scheduled to close on southbound Interstate 95 from just south of the Betsy Ross Bridge to the Allegheny Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia on Tuesday, January 29, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for bridge inspection and barrier adjustment, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel on southbound I-95 in the work area because backups and slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.

The work is part of the $312 million project to replace the southbound I-95 viaduct between Palmer Street in Fishtown and Ann Street in Port Richmond, part of the reconstruction of 1.5 miles of southbound I-95 between the Girard Avenue and Allegheny Avenue interchanges.

James J. Anderson Construction Company, Inc. of Philadelphia is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.

More information about the reconstruction of I-95 in Philadelphia is available at www.95revive.com.
