NWS Weather Briefing

Emergency Management Partners and Stakeholders:

 

Attached is the latest weather briefing from the US National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ for a slight risk of severe storms later today (primary is afternoon and evening). This is the only briefing expect for this event.

 

Chester County Forecasted Conditions:

  • Slight risk for severe storms this afternoon and evening

  • Hazards and Impacts:

    • Hail/Wind

      • Strong winds

      • Large hail possible

    • Flooding

      • Heavy downpours possible

      • Localized flooding possible

      • Areas with poor drainage are at higher risk 

    • Tornado

      • Small risk with storms in the late afternoon early evening

  • This holiday weekend is expected to be dry and seasonable

  • July 4th there is a chance of thunderstorms (20-30%)

     

Active Watches & Warnings:

    • Currently there are no Watches and Warnings for Chester County

 

DES Actions:

  • We will continue to monitor this event and provide additional information as it becomes available.

  • The Watch Officer is available through the 9-1-1 Operations Center by calling 610-344-5100.

  • The EOC is not expected to be activated for this event.
