Wolf Administration Announces Work to Begin to Resurface 10 Miles of State
Highway in Bucks County

The Wolf Administration announced today that construction is scheduled to
begin
next week to resurface 10 miles of state highway in Bucks County. Work on
the
project is expected to be completed in late October.

"Improving road conditions is one of those quality-of-life issues that is
important throughout the Commonwealth," Governor Tom Wolf said. "Investing
in
roadway improvements like this project in Bucks County benefits drivers,
pedestrians and cyclists, alike."

On Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, lane
restrictions are scheduled on Gibson Road/Bristol Road between Bensalem
Boulevard and Overland Road in Bensalem Township, for milling and paving.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through this work
zone
because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor's schedule
is
dependent on the weather.

The additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract

include:

• Route 532 (Buck Road) between Jay Street/Route 213 (Bridgetown Pike) and
Rocksville Road in Lower Southampton and Northampton townships;
• Marienstein Road/Bridgeton Hill Road between Route 611 (Easton Road) and

Route 32 (River Road) in Nockamixon and Bridgeton townships; and
• Oxford Valley Road/Reading Avenue between Edgewood Road and Main Street
in
Lower Makefield Township and Yardley Borough.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill the existing roadway
surface
and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement will seal
the
roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

James D. Morrissey, Inc. of Philadelphia, PA is the general contractor on
the
$3,191,960 project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds from Act
89,
Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
