Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for
Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia

Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in
Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

• Thursday, May 17, and Friday, May 18, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right
lane
closure is scheduled on eastbound Interstate 76 between the South Street
and
28th Street interchanges;
• Friday, May 18, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled on
State Road between Rhawn Street and Ashburner Street; and
• Saturday, May 19, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a right lane closure is
scheduled
on westbound Interstate 676 between the Interstate 95 and Ben Franklin
Parkway
interchanges.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges at least
once
every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the
structures.
