PennDOT Starting $3.7 Million Project to Resurface 15 Miles of State
Highway in Bucks County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today
that
construction will begin next week on a $3.7 million project to repair and
resurface 15 miles of state highway in Bucks County. The entire project is
expected to be completed in July.

Beginning Monday, March 27, through Friday, April 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00
PM,
periodic lane restrictions with flagging are scheduled weekdays on Route
412
(Durham Road) between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Route 212 in Nockamixon
and
Springfield townships, for milling and paving operations.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work
zones
because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor's schedule
is
dependent on the weather.

The additional state highways scheduled for resurfacing under this contract

include:

• Route 563 (Ridge Road) between County Line Road and Park Avenue in West
Rockhill Township and Perkasie Borough; and
• Kumry Road between Sleepy Hollow Road and Creamery Road in Milford
Township
and Trumbauersville Borough.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT will mill off the existing roadway
surface and repave the state highways with new asphalt. The new pavement
will
seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc., of Hilltown Township, Bucks County, is the

general contractor on the $3,732,792 project, which is financed with 100
percent state funds from Act 89, Pennsylvania's Transportation Plan.
