The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 8 am this morning to 8 PM EDT
this evening.
* Winds... west 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
* Timing... winds will begin to increase after sunrise. The
strongest winds are expected from mid morning through late this
afternoon. Winds should begin to diminish early this evening.
* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected. There is a higher
risk of tree and power line damage today due to ice accretion
in many locations and saturated ground.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that very windy conditions are expected.
Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for
high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Light-weight outdoor
objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be
secured.
