PECO to Restrict Several State Highways Next Week for Utility Improvements Across Philadelphia Region

King of Prussia, PA – PECO Energy is planning weekday lane closures on several state highways in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties for utility construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedule is:

Bucks County

  • Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike) from just south of Green Lane to Beaver Dam Road in Bristol Township, for gas main installation; and
  • Monday, May 18, through Monday, June 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 32 (River Road) between Old Carversville Road and Cuttalossa Road in Solebury Township, for aerial work.

Chester County

  • Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 23 (Ridge Road) between Hickory Grove Road and Hill Church Road in Phoenixville Borough, for utility replacement;
  • Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 23 (Ridge Road) between Bethel Church Road and Nottingham Drive in East Coventry Township, for utility work;
  • Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 23 (Ridge Road) between Porters Mill Road and Fulmer Road in East Coventry Township, for utility work;
  • Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) between Prizer Road and Flower Spring Road in Spring City Borough, for utility replacement;
  • Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 272 (Christine Road) between Union School Road and Herr Drive in West Nottingham Township, for pole replacement;
  • Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 282 (Creek Road) between Pumpkin Hill Road and Indiantown Road in Wallace Township, for utility replacement;
  • Monday, May 18, through Wednesday, June 10, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) between Font Road and Route 23 (Ridge Road) in South Coventry Township, for aerial work; and
  • Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, on Route 896 (New London Road) between Den Road and Penbrook Drive in Franklin Township, for transformer replacement.

Delaware County

  • Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) between Lynn Boulevard and U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) in Upper Darby Township, for utility installation; and
  • Wednesday, May 20, through Wednesday, May 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) between Route 452 (Pennell Road) and Ponds Edge Road in Media Borough, for utility work.

Montgomery County

  • Monday, May 18, through Friday, May 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a lane closure is scheduled on Route 29 (Main Street) between 8th Street and 10th Street in Pennsburg Borough, for utility work.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
