Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Philadelphia and Chester Counties
King of Prussia, PA – Motorists may encounter lane closures on several state highways in Philadelphia and Chester counties next week for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
Chester County
- Monday, May 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on U.S. 202 at the Route 100 Interchange in West Goshen Township;
- Tuesday, May 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Paoli Pike at U.S. 202 in West Goshen Township;
- Wednesday, May 13, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 272 (Christiana Road) between Kirks Mill Road and Hopewell Road in West Nottingham Township; and
- Thursday, May 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 100 between Pottstown Pike and U.S. 202 in West Whiteland Township.
Philadelphia
- Monday, May 11, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on the ramp from Betsy Ross Bridge West to Interstate-95 North;
- Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on southbound I-95 between Island Avenue and Bartram Avenue interchanges;
- Tuesday, May 12, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, on 7th Street between Vine Street and Callowhill Street;
- Wednesday, May 13 through Friday, May 15, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on eastbound and westbound Interstate 76 between Montgomery Drive and Girard Avenue interchanges
- Thursday, May 14, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on eastbound I-76 between Montgomery Avenue and Spring Garden Street interchanges;
- Thursday, May 14, through Saturday, May 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, on Route 291 (Penrose Avenue) between 26th Street and Island Avenue;
- Saturday, May 16, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, on westbound Interstate 676 between I-95 and Ben Franklin Parkway interchanges; and
- Sunday, May 17, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, on eastbound I-676 between Ben Franklin Parkway and 8th Street interchanges.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because slowdowns will occur. All schedule activities are weather dependent.
Work on this project will be in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health guidance as well as a project-specific COVID-19 safety plan, which will include protocols for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the jobsite, special signage and relevant training.
