I-95 Night Travel Restrictions Scheduled Next Week in Philadelphia

Nighttime travel restrictions are scheduled on Interstate 95 for
construction
in Northeast and South Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation (PennDOT) said today.
This work is associated with construction underway to rebuild the Cottman
Avenue (Route 73) Interchange and to complete guiderail repairs at various
locations as part of the project to rebuild the I-95/Girard Avenue
Interchange.
The work schedule is:
• On Sunday, June 5, through Saturday, June 11, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, I-95 north will be reduced periodically to two lanes
between
the Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue (Route 73) interchanges for paving
activities on the northbound side;
• On Sunday, June 5, through Saturday, June 11, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following morning, the I-95 north off-ramp to Cottman Avenue (Route 73)
will be
closed for overhead paving and bridge construction. Motorists will be
detoured
north on I-95 to the exit at the Academy Road Interchange, then right on
Linden
Avenue, and right on State Road to Cottman Avenue (Route 73);
• On Sunday, June 5, through Saturday, June 11, the Princeton Avenue
on-ramp to
I-95 north will be closed from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for
overhead bridge construction. Motorists will be detoured north on State
Road,
then left on Linden Avenue, then right on the ramp to I-95 north at the
Academy
Road Interchange; and
• From 10:00 PM Wednesday, June 8, to 5:00 AM Thursday, June 9, I-95 south
will
be reduced from three lanes to two between the Walt Whitman Bridge and
Broad
Street (Route 611) interchanges for guiderail installation.
In addition, U.S. 322 east in Delaware County will be reduced to a single
lane
on Wednesday, June 8, and Thursday, June 9, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for
guiderail installation between Route 452 and Highland Avenue.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time for travel through the work zones.
All
scheduled activities are weather dependent.
