Lane Restrictions Scheduled on Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in Atglen
Borough, Chester County for Shoulder Reconstruction

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced
that
weekday lane restrictions are scheduled on Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike)
between
Route 372 (Lower Valley Road) and Farm Lane in Atglen Borough, Chester
County,
on Tuesday, June 21, through Friday, June 24, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, for
shoulder reconstruction. Traffic will be controlled by flagging.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.
The
construction schedule is contingent on the weather.
The shoulder reconstruction work is part of an $850,000 project to repair
the
bridge carrying Route 41 over the Amtrak tracks in Atglen Borough.
Construction
on the bridge will begin later this summer and is expected to be completed
in
late October. Two travel lanes will be maintained on the bridge during
construction.
J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor on
the
project, which is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state
funds.
