U.S. 30 Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week in West Whiteland Township,
Chester County
6/10/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA
A series of travel restrictions are planned this coming week on U.S. 30
between
the Business U.S. 30 and Route 100 interchanges in Chester County, for
roadwork associated with the $2.9 million project to repair the highway
and
address sinkhole activity at two locations in West Whiteland Township,
Chester
County.
PennDOT is reinforcing the earth under U.S. 30 in the median and parts of
the
eastbound and westbound inside travel lanes about 2,000 feet east of the
Business U.S. 30 Interchange, and in the eastbound inside lane and median
approximately 1,000 feet east of the bridge over Clover Mill Road.
Construction
began June 1, 2106, and is expected to finish in October 2016.
On Sunday, June 12, lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 30 east and west
from
5:00 AM to 11:00 AM for the installation of project signs. This will be a
moving operation.
On Monday, June 13, through Friday, June 17, motorists will encounter
nighttime
lane closures on U.S. 30 east and west from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the
following
morning while crews install drainage, paint traffic lines, shift travel
lanes,
and install temporary concrete barriers.
On Tuesday, June 14, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the
contractor will work to move U.S. 30's two westbound travel lane to the
right
and away from the median from just east of the bridge over Clover Hill Road
to
the Business U.S. 30 Interchange. On Wednesday night, June 15, crews will
shift
the two eastbound travel lanes away from the median in the same location.
Lane
closures will be in place during this overnight operation.
The contractor's work schedule is weather dependent.
Road-Con, Inc. of West Chester, Chester County, is the general contractor
on
the $2,971,205 project that is financed with 100 percent state funds.
