NWS Weather Briefing

Emergency Management Partners and Stakeholders:

Attached is the latest weather briefing from the US National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ regarding flooding and severe weather potential beginning late tonight and continuing through at least mid-day tomorrow. Due to the timing of this event, this is the last briefing planned for this event.

Chester County Forecasted Conditions:
  • Timing has changed for this event. Flooding and severe thunderstorm threat expected to begin very late tonight and continue through early afternoon, 
  • Hazards and Impacts:
    • Flooding
      • Highest risk through the morning generally across Chester County 
    • Severe Thunderstorms
      • Risk for Southeastern Pennsylvania 
      • Primary hazard expected is strong winds
      • Small risk of large hail and tornadoes
Active Watches & Warnings:
  • Currently there are no Watches and Warnings for Chester County 
DES Actions:
  • We will continue to monitor this event and provide additional information as it becomes available.
  • The Watch Officer is available through the 9-1-1 Operations Center by calling 610-344-5100.
  • The EOC is not expected to be activated for this event.
