I-95 South Exit Ramp to Aramingo Avenue at Betsy Ross Bridge Interchange to
Close September 21 for Reconstruction
9/7/2016-KING OF PRUSSIA
The Interstate 95 south exit ramp to Aramingo Avenue at the Betsy Ross
Bridge
Interchange in Philadelphia will close Wednesday evening, September 21, for
nine months for reconstruction, the Pennsylvania Department of
transportation
announced today.
The ramp reconstruction is part of the $160.2 million contract — the first
of
four contracts planned for the I-95/Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue
Interchange — that is currently underway to improve the ramp system at the
interchange.
The southbound I-95 exit ramp will close September 21 at approximately 8:00
PM.
The rebuilt ramp is scheduled to open in June 2017.
I-95 south motorists normally using this exit ramp will be directed to exit
at
Bridge Street and follow signs to Aramingo Avenue. An alternate detour will
be
for drivers to remain on I-95 south and exit at the Allegheny Avenue
off-ramp,
then turn left on Allegheny Avenue, left on Delaware Avenue, and left on
Castor
Avenue to return to Aramingo Avenue.
The joint venture of Driscoll Construction Company, Inc. of Blue Bell, Pa.
and
Richard E. Pierson Construction Company, Inc. of Woodstown, N.J. is the
general
contractor on the $160,296,564 project. The transportation improvement
project
is financed with 100 percent federal funds. Construction is expected to be
completed in fall 2017.
