Travel Restrictions Scheduled on Several State Highways in Montgomery
County

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced
that
travel restrictions are scheduled on several state highways in Montgomery
County, for resurfacing and sweeping operations.
The work schedule, which is weather dependent, is:
• Sunday, October 2, and Monday, October 3, from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM the
following morning, lane restrictions are scheduled on Germantown Pike
between
Joshua Road and Plymouth Road in Plymouth and Whitemarsh townships, for
milling;
• Monday, October 3, through Thursday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
intermittent lane closures are scheduled on eastbound and westbound
Interstate
76 between U.S. 1 (City Avenue) and the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) in
Lower
Merion Township, West Conshohocken Borough and Upper Merion Township, for
sweeping;
• Monday, October 3, through Thursday, October 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM,
lane
restrictions are scheduled on northbound and southbound Route 309 between
Cheltenham Avenue and Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Cheltenham, Springfield,
Upper
Dublin and Lower Gwynedd townships, for sweeping;
• Monday, October 3, through Thursday, October 6, from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM
the
following morning, Edge Hill Road is scheduled to close between Moreland
Road
and Terwood Road in Upper Moreland Township, for milling and paving. During
construction, Edge Hill Road motorists will be detoured over Moreland Road,
Davisville Road and Terwood Road;
• Tuesday, October 4, and Wednesday, October 5, from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM the
following morning, lane restrictions are scheduled on Fox Chase Road
between
Route 232 (Huntingdon Pike) and Evans Road in Abington township, for
paving; and
• Thursday, October 6, and Friday, October 7, from 7:00 PM to 4:00 AM the
following morning, Norristown Road is scheduled to close between Bethlehem
Pike
and Tennis Avenue in Lower Gwynedd Township, for paving. During
construction,
Norristown Road motorists will be detoured over Sumneytown Pike, Bethlehem
Pike
and Tennis Avenue.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through these work
zones.
