Construction is underway to resurface seven miles of Route 10 between Route
41
(Gap Newport Pike) and U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) in West Fallowfield,
Highland,
Sadsbury townships, and Parkesburg Borough, Chester County.
PennDOT's contractor is milling the existing deteriorated riding surface
and
will place new asphalt pavement on Route 10 to seal the roadway and provide
smoother travel.
This week, crews are scheduled to mill Route 10 from tonight through
Thursday,
May 5, from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning. The contractor will
mill
and pave Route 10 on Sunday through Thursday nights for the next four
weeks.
Motorists are advised to allow additional time for travel during
construction.
Lane restrictions also will be in place on Route 10 in Parkesburg Borough,
Monday, May 2, through Friday, May 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for curb
ramp
construction.
This work on Route 10 is part of PennDOT's $5.2 million project to repair
and
resurface 21 miles of deteriorated pavement on three state highways in
Chester
County, with funding from the state's transportation plan, Act 89.
As part of this project, construction continues to resurface U.S. 1 between
Hopewell Road and Route 896 (Newark Road) in East Nottingham, Lower Oxford
and
Upper Oxford townships. Motorists can expect to face lane closures today
through Saturday, May 7, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM for paving. Weekday and
Saturday lane closures on U.S. 1 will continue until construction is
completed
by the end of May
Lane closures are scheduled on Waterloo Avenue at U.S. 30 (Lancaster
Avenue) in
Easttown Township for curb ramp installations on Monday, May 2, through
Friday,
May 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The resurfacing of Waterloo Avenue between
Sugartown Road and U.S. 30 was completed in 2015.
Allan A. Myers, LP, of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general
