Travel Restrictions Next Week in Montgomery County and Philadelphia for
Overhead Sign and Bridge Inspections

Travel restrictions are scheduled in Montgomery County and Philadelphia
next
week for overhead sign and bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department
of
Transportation (PennDOT) today announced.
Weather permitting, the overhead sign inspection schedule is:
• On Tuesday, May 31, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed on
the eastbound George C. Platt Memorial Bridge (Route 291) between Bartram
Avenue and 26th Street in Philadelphia for a bridge inspection;
• On Thursday, June 2, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the right lane will be
closed
on North Franklin Street between Vine Street and Callowhill Street in
Philadelphia for a bridge inspection; and
• On Saturday, June 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the right lane will be
closed
on Interstate 76 west between Belmont Avenue and U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike)
interchanges in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, for overhead sign
structure inspection.
The inspections are part of PennDOT's program to inspect bridges and sign
structures at least once every two years. The inspections ensure the safety
and
overall condition of the structures.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by
visiting
www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides
traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and
access
to more than 770 traffic cameras.

accessible
on the 511PA website.
