I-95 Lane Closures Scheduled Next Week between Woodhaven Road and Betsy
Ross Bridge Interchanges
1/20/2017-KING OF PRUSSIA
Daytime and nighttime lane closures are scheduled next week on Interstate
95 in
Philadelphia for ramp construction, surveying operations and other
activities,
the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
• Monday, January 23, through Friday, January 27, and on Tuesday, January
31,
from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, northbound or southbound single lane closures will
be
in place periodically on I-95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue
Interchange for surveying. Surveying also will take place on the
on-and-off-ramps at the interchange. The ramps will remain open during the
surveying operations, which are being done as part of the engineering
design
that is underway for additional construction at the interchange;
• Monday, January 23, through Thursday, January 26, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM
the
following morning, intermittent single and double lane closures will occur
on
northbound and southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue
Interchange for overhead ramp construction; and
• Monday, January 23, through Friday, January 27, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM
the
following morning, periodic lane closures will be in place on southbound
I-95
between the Woodhaven Road and Academy Road interchanges for removal of a
message sign.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow more time for
travel
on I-95 because backups will occur during construction. All scheduled
activities are weather dependent.
The work is associated with a $160.2 million project to improve the ramp
system
at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange and a $218 million
project
to rebuild the Cottman Avenue (Route 73) Interchange and reconstruct and
widen
I-95 between Bleigh Avenue and Levick Street. PennDOT completed mainline
construction on I-95 at the Cottman Avenue Interchange in December 2016.
