NWS Weather Briefing

Emergency Management Partners and Stakeholders:

Here we go again! Attached is a map the US National Weather Service in Mount Holly, NJ provided regarding the freezing rain forecasted for Tuesday night.

Key Updates: A small amount of freezing rain is forecasted for the northwestern half of Chester County Tuesday night 1/10/2017 into Wednesday 1/11/2017.

Chester County Forecasted Conditions:
• Anticipated Timing: Freezing rain Tuesday night 1/10/2017 into Wednesday morning 1/11/2017 , rain until 1pm
• Overnight temperatures are expected to hover just above freezing
• Precipitation: 0.02" of freezing rain for areas northwest half of the county
• Active watches & warnings: None
Impacts:
• Untreated roads will be hazardous

Recommended Preparedness Actions:
• Follow the NWS and local weather forecasts throughout the weekend for the latest changes, updates, and information.

DES Actions:
• We will continue to monitor this event and provide additional information as it becomes available.
• The Watch Officer is available through the 9-1-1 Operations Center by calling 610-344-5100
• The EOC is currently not expected to be activated for this event.

Next Briefing Package: No additional briefings are expected unless there is a major shift in the forecast.
