NWS Weather Briefing

Emergency Management Partners and Stakeholders:

 

Attached is the latest briefing package from the Nation Weather Service, Mt Holly for a coastal storm this Sunday through Tuesday midday.


Key Updates: This is the final briefing for this weather event

·        Rain may mix with sleet and snow at times across southeastern Pennsylvania; little to no accumulation is expected as a result of this.

 

Chester County Forecasted Conditions:

  • A Winter Weather Advisory has been extended through 6pm on Tuesday, January 24th for areas north of Chester County
  • Heavy Rains have moved out of the area; however, spotty participations will continue with an additional ½" expected

 

Impacts:

  • With temperatures in the area hovering around or slightly above freezing, the capability for freezing rain and the development of slick roads is to be expected.  High Elevation areas will see lower temperatures and an increased probability of this occurring.

                                                      

Recommended Preparedness Actions:

  • Follow the NWS and local weather forecasts for the latest changes, updates, and information.

 

DES Actions:

  • We will continue to monitor this event and provide additional information as it becomes available.
  • The Watch Officer is available through the 9-1-1 Operations Center by calling 610-344-5100
  • The EOC is currently not expected to be activated for this event.
