Attached is the latest briefing package from the Nation Weather Service, Mt Holly for a coastal storm this Sunday through Tuesday midday. Notable changes include - Winter Weather Advisory for the southern Poconos and far NW NJ and upgrading to a Coastal Flood Warning for Atlantic, Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex Counties for this afternoon-evening.
Key Updates: A strong offshore storm will bring heavy rain, strong winds, coastal flooding, and at least some potential winter weather to the extreme north and west Sunday and Monday, some rain will linger into Tuesday. Rainfall amounts for most of the county have decreased to 1 – 1 ½ inches across the county. Wind Advisory has been issued of all of Chester County on Monday from 5 am until 4 pm with East winds 20 - 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Chester County Forecasted Conditions:
• Anticipated Timing: Sunday afternoon into Tuesday Midday • Today winds from the East around 21 - 23 mph with gust to 48 mph. Tonight night winds return to the Northeast at 16 - 21 mph with gust to 43 mph. Tuesday wind remains from the Northeast around 15 mph. • Precipitation: 1 – 1 ½ inches of rain predicted for the county • Active watches & warnings: Chester County is under a Hazardous Weather Outlook and a Wind Advisory · Periods of heavy rain Sunday night through Monday night could result in poor drainage flooding · Winds East 20-30 mph with gust up to 50 mph · Timing- The strongest winds are expected to occur from after sunrise this morning until mid afternoon Impacts:
· Strong winds may blow down limps, trees, and power lines. Isolated power outages are likely. Strong winds can make it difficult to drive, especially high profile vehicles. Light weight objects like trash cans and patio furniture should be secured.
